The day finally came...

Well, the day finally came that I had to go back to work. And it came faster that I could have ever imagined. 10 weeks sounded like a long time until I met my baby girl.

The past few days (or weeks, let's be honest) have not been without tears but overall today went better than I could have hoped. The Lord was faithful to answer my prayers for as smooth a transition as possible.  Since I left the house at 6:45am Libby was still asleep which I think was a good thing. I wasn't forced to have a traumatic goodbye and make John Paul peel her out of my arms :) When I got to work my awesome coworkers had made welcome back signs for my office and brought me coffee. Then they basically just let me get my bearings and participate in patient care only as much as I wanted. I really do work with the best people ever. The weird thing is, I don't know any of the patients any more! They kept calling me the new girl, ha. But they were super sweet and asked all about Libby even though they don't even know me! The fact that I genuinely love my job is such a huge blessing. And thankfully, John Paul had the day off so he brought Libby up to see me at lunch. I was missing her like crazy so it was just the fix I needed to get me to 4pm!

Also, some of you might have heard that we recently decided I would only go back to work 3 days a week as opposed to 4 which was the original plan. After much discussion, prayer, and budget calculating, John Paul and I decided that we would take a leap of faith and that I would go down to part time hours. Thankfully, he completely supports my desire to be with Libby and agrees that it is definitely worth having us live on less. I am so, so grateful. We know that the Lord will continue to provide all that we need.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, words of encouragement, texts, etc. today! They really did help me get through the day.
