Happy Halloween!

Libby's first Halloween was quite fun and she was
obviously the cutest little flower I've ever seen!

Our play group had a Halloween party early in the day
and I'll let this picture do the talking...
Can't believe we got all these kiddos on the couch. Doesn't get much cuter!
So many things happening in this shot :)
Sweet girl just hanging out.
Lola came to hang out too! Best pic we could get :)

I'm so glad that I work with awesome people who covered for me for a
couple of hours so I could take Libs to the party.

Then this evening we went over to Uncle Nick & Melissa's like we do
every year to eat dinner and trick or treat!

Happy Halloween!

Proof

Proof that Libby really does love bath time...

Libby is 5 months old!

Well Libby,
In case you didn't already know, we love you a lot! This has been a really fun month with you and I am so beyond thankful to be your mommy. There are no words that could even come close to describing how blessed Daddy and I feel that you were given to us. It's hard to believe that it's been over a year now since we found out we were expecting you...time really does fly. I cannot believe you are 5 months old. With that said, we are trying to soak up every moment!

So what are you up these days, sweet girl? Well lots of things. But let's start with the basics.
-Still wearing size 1 diapers
-Wearing 3-6 month clothes. Some are still big on you and you actually fit into one of your newborn outfits the other day when it was really warm outside. You're pretty tiny, little bug.
-You were eating 6.5 oz every 3 hours but then this past week you decided  you were not as hungry. Possibly b/c your soon-to-be teeth were bothering you.
-You're still drooling like a champ...but no teeth quite yet.
-You developed your first little cough and boogers this month. For the record, you are not a fan when mommy has to suck out your snot with the aspirator but boy can you breathe better. You're welcome :)
-You're also sleeping through the night again! woohoo Thank goodness your phase of waking up crying is over.

You tried your bouncy seat this month, Libby! We stuck a photo album underneath so your feet so you could touch!

You found your feet this month...and starting enjoying your Bumbo seat! Getting close to sitting up.

You roll onto your tummy all the time now and love to stay there and play! You also love to scoot! It's crazy. You can get half way across the room in no time. You put your head down and power yourself forward with your legs. You can also do a plank by pushing up on your toes & sticking your bottom up in the air. So dang strong. And you are still a big fan of standing up whenever we are holding you.

How did I end up on the hard wood, mom?

You love taking walks in the Baby Bjorn...especially now that you can face out and see what's going on!

You are also becoming more interested in toys! You love things that light up and will reach for anything we dangle in front of you. You have also started reaching for our faces when we hold you and it is the sweetest thing ever.

This month Daddy went out of town for a whole week and you missed him a lot! We got to face time with him a couple of times a day and your face would light up as soon as you would see him. It was a sweet reunion when he got home!

And lately Libby, we've been hearing over and over that you are a very social baby! You are super alert and love to watch people. You have started responding to your name and will turn when we are talking to you. And boy, do you like to talk. You smile and giggle A LOT. Speaking of giggling, this month you actually became ticklish! It used to be that when we tickled you we would get no response but now you laugh like crazy. Especially when we tickle your neck or belly. It's the cutest.

And thankfully Libs, Daddy got home just in time for us to take your 5 month pictures because he is the only one who could've gotten these AMAZING smiles from you! Happy 5 months sweet girl! WE LOVE YOU!

Happy Fall!

What says fall is here more than the State Fair of Texas and pumpkins at the arboretum?!

In the past 3 days we have visited both places to soak up some of this
awesome weather and yummy food!

Tuesday night we went to the fair with our HPPC young adult group and some other staff and friends. It was a really fun time! I thought we might qualify as delinquent parents for taking a 4 1/2 month old to the fair that late at night but I saw tons of babies and kids there (on a school night) so I didn't feel so bad :) Plus Libby loved all the lights and sounds so she had a blast...that is, until she fell asleep in her stroller among the chaos.
Our family of 3! Libby got to wear her new boots :)

My new favorite picture. She loves her daddy.

John Paul made a basket and won this huge dog!
Then today John Paul planned so that he could join us at the arboretum! It was an absolutely beautiful day. We walked around and saw the pumpkins, the Chihuly art exhibit, and then had a picnic. Perfect family fun day in my book.

Does it get any sweeter?!
Love this precious smile

Makes me happy.
Sweet face.
We went ahead and got a year long family pass because it pays for itself in 3 visits and I am so excited to go back very soon!

I can't wait for even more fun fall activities coming up...especially Halloween because Libby girl is going to be the cutest flower you ever did see.
