Ellie ~ 4 months!

Happy 4 months to our happy little love!

Ellie, we cannot get over what a sweetie you are! You are our dimple faced, cheeks for days, thumb sucking, green eyed, content little love bug. Your smiles light up your whole face and you're giggling more and more these days. You are super strong and have started to enjoy sitting up in the bumbo like a big girl! You get so excited when we let you "stand up" and put weight on your legs. And you are so close to being able to roll from your back to stomach! You try so hard. You are getting much better at following people and objects with your eyes and turn your head toward familiar sounds. You love bath time, your daddy's voice, to be outside, chew on anything (including our fingers), talk as if we know what you're saying now that you're finding your voice, hang with mommy when sister's at school, and play on your play mat. You also have a thing for pooping in your carseat and making mommy wash it all.the.time. It's a good thing you are so darn cute :) And finally, you had some firsts this month! You had your first Halloween as Ellie the Elephant, went to Corpus for the first time and went to your first wedding.

At 4 months you are...
- weigh 14 lb 10 oz (75th percentile)
- 24 1/4 inches long (50th percentile)
- wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes
- size 2 diapers
- nursing 5 times a day
- you are on no particular schedule to speak of quite yet. Second child problems :) If we are home all day you typically take about 3 naps a day...one in the morning about an hour and a half after you wake up, a longer one in the afternoon, and a cat nap in the evening. If we are out and about you nap in your car seat and do great!
- going to bed around 9:30pm and getting up around 8:30am...mommy and daddy are so lucky!!
- no teeth yet
- go by the names sweetie muffin or sweetie girl, Ellie girl, Ellie belly, and sister girl

Your sister thought you wanted baby Aurora to sit by you. You wanted to eat her.

You don't get a lot of personal space...sorry about that.
Post bath giggles.

Libby loves to come get you out of bed in the mornings.
The "I don't have pants because I had ANOTHER blowout" guilty face.
But I'm still cute.

Happy 4 months Ellie!! I cannot believe you've been with us for a third of a YEAR!! I can't imagine life without you nor would I want to. You are a huge joy to mommy and daddy and everyone you meet! We love you so much. Thank you, Lord, for this sweet girl! We ask that you show us how to love and teach her well.

Ellie ~ 3 months

Hi there sweet Ellie belly,

My how time flies!! You are 3 months old and more and more fun every day! This was an eventful month with lots of fun milestones for you and firsts for our family of four. I must say, life is pretty great with you in it, Ellie girl. We just love you so much and are amazed as we watch you grow and develop into the sweetest little thing. You are amazingly even keeled and laid back but you do like to be in the middle of all the action or else you are not too pleased. You like to sit in your seat in my bathroom and watch me while I do my make-up or dry my hair or be in the kitchen as I cook meals...being in your swing in the other room just won't do. I take you with me to bible study and you sit in my lap and listen intently the whole time :) You also endure your fair share of pestering from your sister and never get too worked up. And boy does your sister love you. She tells you that you are her best girl and says "I'm so happy to see you!"...it just about makes my heart explode. Seeing you two as sisters is already one of the greatest gifts God has given me.

So here are some things I want to remember about you at this age!

-wearing size 3-6 month and some 6 month clothes...your cheeks are THE BEST.
-just switched you to size 2 diapers after a few blow outs ;)
-nursing 5 times a day, about every 3 hours...roughly 8:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, 8:30/9pm
-sleeping great! You usually eat for the last time around 9pm and then stay up for some alone time with mommy and daddy since sister is in bed. You're typically going to bed around 10:30pm and sleeping until 8 or 8:30 in the morning. What a gift!
-you've started cooing and making a ton of sweet little sounds!
-you found your hands this month! It's really funny to watch you stare at them in amazement.
-you grabbed the ring on your playmat and are getting better at grabbing onto other things too...including mommy's hair!
-you love Sophie and are trying to chew on everything you can find...possibly already getting ready for some teeth??
-you are smiling all the time now and I cannot get enough! Your smiles are one of the best things ever and I know your daddy would agree. He loves to make you smile and is on a mission to be the first to make you laugh. He is definitely smitten with you.
-you really love the swing now too!

Now onto some pictures of your ridiculously cute self!

Beautiful girl.

Sister love.

Hi mom.
still napping on mommy...who needs a crib? :)
you got the ring!
and found your hands!
You are so loved, Ellie girl!
It's football season :)
I swear it looks like you're attempting to gig 'em, doesn't it??
Not so sure about this...
Poor girl, you were not feeling it. I mean, who can be happy all the time??
Cooler weather means more walks! Hooray.
Sometimes while sister is at school, we lunch with YiaYia Christie and YiaYia Libby at Nordstrom :)
That hair.
Bright eyes enjoying her mommy/daddy time after sister is in bed.
Play time! Can you feel the love, Ellie?
tummy time!
Happy girl.
That smile.
This is the position you fall asleep in now. So cute.
First time at the fair!
First time in the bumbo.
And your sister can still fit.
First time to Aggieland! Whoop.
You LOVE sophie.
Stop it right now. That face is too much!
Pretty eyes...it's hard to tell in this picture but they are a beautiful green color.
Sweet moment with you and Daddy. We thought this was going to be your first night in your own room until we tried to sync the camera to the monitor and realized we bought the wrong one. So back to our room you went...we didn't mind!

Happy 3 months, Ellie!! We love you so! God is good.
