Ellie ~ 6 months!

Happy 6 months, Ellie girl!

You are half a year old! I cannot believe it. I must confess that I did not get your 5 month blog post done so this will cover the past 2 months :)

There is no other way to say it except that you are just the sweetest baby. The past two months with you have been incredibly sweet as you are giggling and smiling like crazy! You're also starting to babble more and more (bah, bah, bah) and you found your tongue this month so you think it's really funny to blow bubbles. When you get excited you kick your feet and then you do this funny thing with your arms where you make little fists and sort of punch both of them down to the side at the same time. And Ellie belly, you are chill. You have a very content and happy disposition and will totally go with the flow. Often times your naps or nursing times get adjusted a bit and you handle it amazingly well. Such a gift! To give an example, last night you sat in your bumbo on yiayia's kitchen counter while she made dinner for an hour and a half without making a peep while I took your sister potty every 5 seconds :) Of course, you are still a baby and sometimes you'll let out a little yelp to get my attention. For instance, if I've walked out of your sight and you can't see me anymore you make sure to let me know. Or if you're sister happens to be smothering you :) You'll let anyone hold you and cuddle you. In fact, you love cuddling. And I love that you love cuddling! Some of my favorite times with you are when I'm rocking you right before I put you down for a nap or to bed at night. It's our time -just you and me - and I love it. You like for me to cradle you and you look right up at me with those big, beautiful eyes of yours. The best.

You started rolling over to your tummy about 3 weeks ago and now that's how you like to hang out! You also like to sleep on your tummy now. And as soon as you start getting sleepy that little thumb of yours goes straight in your mouth. You curl your tiny little pointer finger up over your nose and it is the cutest. You have the best rolls at your wrists and thighs. You love looking at your hands, chewing on anything, your little singing Elmo, sitting in your bumbo or play seat, watching your sister, baths, riding in the Ergo, and having blowouts :) Sweet girl, you just have a thing about pooping in the car seat or bumbo. We're talking most days of the week. I've switched sizes of diapers, brands of diapers - it doesn't matter. Something about that upright position just gets you in the mood to go. And it only took me like 20 blowouts to finally figure out that I need to ALWAYS have a change of clothes for you. Ha...real smart there, mom.

So here's what else is happening with you lately...
-size 6-9 month clothes (we'll find out how much you weigh on Wednesday)
-size 3 diapers
-just switched from nursing every 3 hours to nursing every 4 hours last week. You eat at at about 8:30/12:30/4:30/8:30
-starting solids this week so we'll see what you think!
-you usually take 3 naps a day. They are not at the exact same times every day but for the most part they are from 10-11:30, 2:00-4:30, and then a little cat nap in the evenings.
-you sleep from 8:30pm to 8:30am. Rock star sleeper. Bless you.
-no teeth yet but you're drooling and chewing on everything so we'll stay tuned!
-you are still a little ways away from sitting up but you really wish you could!

So to sum it all up Ellie girl, I absolutely love being your mommy! And daddy is crazy about you too! We love watching you grow and learn and develop more of a little personality. We thank the Lord for you and the joy you bring to our lives. We love you sooooo much! Happy 6 months precious girl!!
