Happy 8 months, Libby!

Libby,
You're 8 months old! What in the world?! Is this even possible?? Wow!
Daddy and I agree that you are the most fun kid ever. We absolutely love hanging out with you! In fact, you should probably go to bed earlier than you do but we just hate putting you to sleep...oops :)
You are becoming such a little person with the best personality, faces, and sounds. You are fearless. Seriously, you let daddy throw you up in the air, you will climb up and on anything, you get knocked down and get right back up. And you are so busy these days! Sometimes I just sit on the couch and watch you play...it is hilarious. A friend from church made the comment the other day that she loves the fact that you play so hard that you get out of breath...it's true. Oh and you love people! You will let anyone hold you and you are so nosy that you'll lean way over to see what people are doing around you. But you did start making this shy face recently where you'll nuzzle your head into my shoulder when someone new walks up...I don't know what that's about. But it sure is cute. You also smile quite often unless you are tired or sick, which we experienced for the first time this month. And even then, you were precious.

So here are some monthly stats:
-size 2 diapers
-still mostly in 3-6 month clothes but some 6-12 month outfits can work even though they are a little big
-you were 15 lb. 13 oz. two weeks ago at the doctor's office when you were sick
-you go to bed about 8:30 and wake up at 8:00
-you nap from 9:30-11:30 and about 2:30-4/4:30
-you nurse or have a bottle at 8:30/12:30/4:30/8:30 (I am starting to wean so I'm only nursing/pumping 3xday or about every 8 hours...which means your bottles are part breastmilk/part formula)
-you have a yogurt at 9:00am and a fruit & veggie with oatmeal at 6:30pm. And you really love your yogurt and baby food! You're really good at opening your mouth now!

You had a few firsts this month, little bug!
We'll start with the bad news...you had the flu for the first time :( It broke our hearts to see you so sad and we are so thankful that you recovered completely! And for the record, you hate when we suck your snot out with the aspirator. Hate it. You also decided that you do not like taking medicine. It never used to bother you to take Tylenol but as soon as you see the syringe now you start freaking out.

You started sitting in the high chair when we are out at restaurants! And you like it much better than sitting in your car seat. You also started eating Puffs this month so we give those to you to keep you busy. At first you just got the Puffs stuck inside your fist and we'd find them all mushed up in your palm. But now you're getting better at using your fingers to put them in your mouth!

You got some Stride Rite walking shoes because you are wanting to take assisted steps! You are pulling up on everything and cruising around things like our ottoman pretty easily. You're balance is improving drastically all the time. You've gotten really good at pulling up on mommy's legs while I'm cooking, cleaning, etc...it's hilarious. Oh and you can go up the 2 stairs at YiaYia's house from her living room to the kitchen....uh oh.

You also started saying "Ya". You say it randomly but it comes out really quick and energetic. Adorable. Obviously we ask you if you love us and ask as many times as it takes to get a "ya" out of you. Ha. The other thing you started doing is this funny little cackle in the back of your throat. It is so random. I definitely need to get a video of that.

And you finally figured out how to go from standing to sitting instead of just falling over on your face. Way to go, Libs. Much less traumatic.

So what are you loving these days?

Well Libs, you LOVE other babies and kids! You are completely mesmerized by them. You seriously stared this little boy down at Yogurtland yesterday and he was not loving it, haha.

You also love when we make animal noises! Your favorites currently are dog, cow and monkey noises.

You LOVE to play with your daddy! You just see him and start laughing. You want him to pester you and tickle you and love on you all day long. I took the next 2 pictures when you two were playing hide and seek...it's one of your favorites.

Well Libby, if you can't tell we just love you to pieces! You are the most easy going, sweetest baby girl and you bring SO MUCH joy to our lives. Thank you Lord for our girl.

Happy 8 months, Libs!! Taking these pictures was much more challenging this time...you attempted to lunge off the edge of the chair quite a few times! You also really wanted to eat the sticker. I got a couple of good ones but this was not our best shoot! :)
