The Solid Rock

This song has been playing over and over again in my head this weekend every time I hear more of the tragedy that occurred in CT on Friday. My heart hurts for all those involved. Lord, help us.

THE SOLID ROCK

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
And I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
And all other ground is sinking sand

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
And all other ground is sinking sand

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
And all other ground is sinking sand

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne

Faultless to stand before the throne
Faultless to stand before the throne

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
And all other ground is sinking sand

He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Revelation 21:3-5

With Christmas next week I pray we all truly realize the undeserved gift of hope that was offered to us through Jesus. Thank you Lord for sending Jesus to the darkness of this world to rescue us. Thank you that He's coming back to make all things right.
