Libby~2 months old!

Libby,
I cannot believe it's time for another monthly post but you turned 2 months old yesterday!
Your second month was so fun! You are starting to show so much more personality and you make me and daddy smile so much. You make the funniest noises and are starting to babble and talk to us. The faces you make are hilarious and could entertain us for hours...especially the ones when you first wake up in the morning. This is your happiest time of day! And of course, the big milestone this past month was that you started SMILING! We cannot get enough. Daddy sent me to get a foot massage and then called me in the middle of it because he was so excited that you smiled for him! You have the sweetest little face.

Libby, you are so responsive to people and sounds now! You can focus on our faces and look right at us. And you love music and will turn your head when you hear noises. You also love water! You went swimming twice this month and had the best time...well at least it looked like you did :) The first time was in a baby pool at the Bowens house boat and the second time was in the big pool at YiaYia Christie and Papa Ken's house. You're definitely going to be a water baby and Daddy is so excited! And oh my word...how precious do you look in a swimsuit?!

You are also super strong! Your head control is awesome...you love to lay on mommy or daddy's chest and push up with your arms to look at us. Sometimes you like tummy time on your play mat...and sometimes you don't :) Actually, on your play mat you'd rather push up on your legs and push yourself forward. You can seriously scoot all the way across the mat just by pushing with your legs! I have a feeling you are going to an early crawler...yikes. And you can roll from  your tummy to your back by pushing yourself over with your legs...is that normal at 2 months?! Daddy obviously thinks this is awesome and is convinced you are going to be a star athlete. Let's hope you're taller than your mama :)

And Libby, boy do you like to pull your mama's hair nowadays! If I'm holding you then you probably have two handfuls of my hair and I have to pry your little fingers apart so that I don't get bald spots :) Your grip is insane. And actually in the past few days you have started pulling your OWN hair! A couple of days ago you were swinging happily in your swing and then all of a sudden started crying really hard. I went over to see what was wrong and you had a fistful of your own hair! Poor little girl :( Speaking of crying, sure you have your fussy moments in the evening like any other baby but for the most part the only times you really cry are if you're hungry, wet, or overly tired. You do have moments where you prefer to be walked around and not sitting down which can get a little tiring :) Overall, I could not be more thankful for your happy and content disposition! You don't mind going to lunch or daddy's basketball games, getting passed around at family dinner or home group, riding in the car, trips to Target...you're pretty go with the flow. We also tried out the Baby Bjorn a few days ago and you are a fan! You let mommy frost cupcakes while you hung out (literally) in that thing and didn't make a peep. You truly are a sweet baby!

You are so busy moving and wiggling when you are awake that when you are ready to sleep you just crash in any position! Also, as of last week you've started giving us at least a 6 hour stretch of sleep at night! And one night you actually slept for 8 hours...a preview of things to come?! Thanks Libs!

Finally, little girl, I must mention the many nicknames I have for you. Daddy makes fun of me because I make up a new one almost every day. So let's see...we've got Libs, Libby girl, pretty girl, nugget, nuggie, monkey, muffin, and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting. I have no idea what causes these things to come out of my mouth. I think I just get overwhelmed with your cuteness :)

Happy 2 months Libby girl! You melt our hearts and we love you so much! You are the biggest blessing and bring so much joy to our days! We thank the Lord for you constantly.
