If it weren't for this day Christmas would just be another day in December.
Thank you Jesus for bearing my sin, my guilt, my shame on the cross and then conquering death once and for all. You did for me what I could never do for myself. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." Romans 10:9-10
I'm so grateful for undeserved hope and new life in Christ on this day and every day.
We celebrated by worshipping at HPPC's sunrise service in the park
and it was really beautiful. Then we grabbed coffee and breakfast with some of our young adult gang at Cafe Brazil. Love these people!
Then we went to pick up Libby who had spent the night at YiaYia & Papa K's. We took a few family pictures before we all went to lunch and then we even found the Easter bunny!
And here are a few photos from our play group Easter egg hunt last Thursday! We've been meeting with these babies and mamas once a week since Libby was 3 weeks old! So special.
And finally, we actually had one egg hunt before that when we stayed with the
Justin, Leslie & Logan in Austin!
So needless to say, Libby definitely had a 1st Easter to remember!
This was a very fast but very fun month! You are seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen. You have the best personality and demeanor and it is truly a joy to be your mama. I am loving this stage! You are hilarious and always busy and you are literally learning new things every, single day. It is incredible. You have the best expressions and you're starting to babble which is so adorable. Daddy and I are having a blast with you these days and love, love, LOVE being your parents! You are the best gift ever.
The words I would use to describe you this month are curious, playful, energetic, interactive, and happy! It is so incredible because you know what we are saying now and you respond! When we say "bye bye" or "say hi" you wave. When we say "yay" you clap. So fun! You have even given me and Daddy kisses when we've asked on a few occasions but it doesn't happen all the time yet. You don't actually pucker your lips but you lean in toward us and make a humming noise - sweetest thing ever!! You also love to really PLAY now! When Daddy says "I'm coming to get you, Libby" you get the biggest smile on your face, squeal really loud, and then try to crawl off as fast as you can. I love watching you two. You are generally very happy unless you are tired or sick or being put in your carseat...so needless to say, I'm very thankful for your content disposition! Also, I will say, you are getting into everything and I do spend a large amount of my days making sure you don't seriously injure yourself or eat something that's not edible, haha. We definitely don't sit still at our house :)
So here's where we're at at 10 months: -6-9 month clothes mostly. You can still fit into a few 3-6 month pieces though. -size 2 diapers -on our scale at home you weigh 17.2 lb - you're just a little mini muffin. -4 teeth - two upper/two lower -Sleeps from 8p-8a for the most part - unless we are out of town and you are in the pack n play...you are not a fan, boooo. You sleep fine in the crib in Shreveport so it's just that dang pack n play. -Bottles at 8a/12p/4p/8p - you are still very inconsistent with finishing your bottles but I'm trying not worry about it. Dr. Neeley says the goal is 18 oz every day so we try REALLY hard to get there! -Still just doing yogurt for breakfast, a midday snack, and then dinner since you're not finishing your bottles!
What's new this month?
You can stand on your own! You don't do it for long but you can do it! You are really close to walking...pretty much any day now I think you'll go for it. For now though, you still hold on:)
You had your first virus :( Roseola...fever, no energy and a rash. Not fun. I think this picture sums it up. Poor baby.
You did your first Easter Egg hunt with Logan in Austin!
You went to your first wedding! Jennifer & Chris got married in Austin!
Your hair is growing like crazy! Especially in the front! Hard to see there, Libs?
What do you love these days?
You love food! Blueberries, string cheese, beans, turkey, avocado, yogurt, peas, eggs, carrots, and much more. And yesterday you had a grilled cheese for the first time and LOVED it. So it's not that you don't like to eat...it's just apparently you are not a fan of the bottle anymore. We still do some baby food too just depending.
You absolutely love for your crib to be crowded with stuffed animals. As soon as we put you in there you find one to cuddle with and you are out. And this is how you look when we go get you after a nap! I mean, really? Could you be any cuter?! I think not.
You love to be outside! We've had a lot of nice weather lately so Daddy and I have taken you out to the grass in front of our building and you have a ball.
You love to talk! You babble all the time now. It is the sweetest sound. You can hear a little bit of it in this video we made and sent to YiaYia, Papa K, Peter & Nicki while they were on spring break.
You love to clap & dance! You wave your head back and forth when you hear music and it is absolutely adorable. Here is a video of you watching Dancing with the Stars.

Libby, you're such a little person now!! And our favorite person at that! It is unbelievable how much Daddy and I love you!! Happy 10 months sweet Libby.
Libby just started "dancing" when she hears music and it is the absolute cutest thing. Last Sunday at home group she showed off her new moves to some JT tunes! Can't get en0ugh!
Libby's check up today went very well! As expected, she was in a low percentile for weight. Such a teeny little thing. She did drop from the 30th to 15th percentile since her 6 month check up but Dr. Neely wasn't concerned. He said that she's gained almost a pound since she had the flu back in January so he's pleased with that. He said her growth curve is perfect!
It's crazy but I actually got a little emotional when he told me to make sure that she's getting used to a sippy cup since she won't be using a bottle after she turns one. What??? My baby almost doesn't need a bottle anymore? How is this happening so fast?
Oh and they give us a little packet of materials each time we have a check up that give updates on feeding, development, sleep, etc for the age that we're at. So in her 9 month packet today I read the following - "An important part of discipline now is teaching your child what behaviors you expect." So it's time for discipline. Awesome. I mean, I know it's necessary...I can see that the defiant attitude that's in all of us has started to appear in my baby girl. It's just hard to believe we're here already.

Other than that, Libs had her iron levels checked, got 1 Hep B shot, and the 2nd part of her flu shot that she never got previously since she had the flu. Poor kid.
And guess what else? Our next appointment is on May 30th for her 1 YEAR check up!
Happy 9 months, Libby! Here we are again, little bug...another month gone by. Another month of fun milestones and happy days with you. Daddy and I think you are the best thing ever...our love for you just grows and grows. The words we would use to describe you right now are playful, happy, social, fearless, energetic, resilient, tiny, funny and lovable! Baby girl, you really are my little buddy. I love our days together and look forward to them so much. I love the fact that you follow me around the house and want to be with me wherever I am. I love our dance parties when daddy is at school...and from what I can tell, you do too. You'll thank me one day for introducing you to all the good stuff from the 90's :) I also love that you mimic me and daddy now. We have a ton of fun making silly noises and listening to you copy us. Overall, we just have a blast being with you...never a dull moment!
So let's get to the stats: - So let's be real-you're really tiny...like still wearing 3-6 month outfits and size 2 diapers kind of tiny. We go for your well check up tomorrow so I'm curious to see what percentile you're in! -Bed at 8-8:30 and wakes up at 8 -Naps from 9:30-11:30 and 2:30-4:30 for the most part -Bottles at 8:30/12:30/4:30/8:30 + a yogurt for breakfast and dinner. You officially switched completely over to formula this month!
We had more firsts this month! You started waving! You don't always do it on cue quite yet though...it's hit or miss.
You tried blueberries and string cheese! You love anything that you can feed yourself!
Your 2 top teeth came in! This made for a few nights of poor sleep for mommy and daddy but thankfully we are over the hump. You've also had the runniest nose since you've been teething so I feel like a good portion of my days were spent wiping your nose...fun times.
You celebrated your first Valentine's Day! We tried to be crafty and make daddy a valentine with your foot prints...I learned the hard way not to dip your feet directly into the paint. Rookie mistake. Oops :)
You started pushing your walker! You're so tiny so it's pretty insane to watch. I still can't believe you can do it without falling. Amazing, baby girl, just amazing. Stop growing up so fast!
So what are you loving these days? You love sticking your fingers in your mouth! I'm guessing this is related to teething but it's become quite the obsession this month.
You love getting into everything! I just never know what I'm going to find you doing.
You love playing with your stuffed animals in your bed when you wake up. It is precious. You don't even cry to let me know you're awake...I just look on the monitor and see you sitting up in your crib with your friends. And you are just the happiest thing when I go in to get you. I mean, look at this face...does it get any cuter?!
You love to make this new scrunchy face with a sniff noise...no idea where it came from but it's hilarious.
You love for anyone to hold your hands and let you "walk".
You love to talk and squeal lately! You are definitely becoming more and more vocal and we love listening to your sweet voice.
You love to put random stuff in your mouth....not fun. I have literally pulled something out of your mouth every day in the past week. Leaves, fuzz, toilet paper...you name it. You love water and ice! Daddy will crush up little pieces of ice and feed them to you... one would think he was giving you ice cream or something because you are like a little puppy begging for more. And just for the record...you do cry. You don't especially like it when I'm trying to cook dinner, do laundry, or really anything that requires my attention not be on you for a few minutes. You'll play by yourself for little while but then you realize you'd like some company! You also are quite a fan of your naps so when you get tired you're not always the happiest. Here is proof...this picture cracks me up. What a pitiful face.
Alright, as I'm writing this post I'm realizing what a big girl you're becoming and I'm getting sad! It's so bittersweet, little one. Time is passing so quickly but I love watching you grow and learn and explore the world around you...it is such an amazing thing to see each day. It makes me so in awe of our great God who created each of us in such a spectacular way. Daddy and I can see the way your little personality is developing. It makes me wonder who you're going to grow up to be. Baby girl, know that God loves you and has created you in a specific way, with specific gifts and characteristics, to fulfill His purposes. Our biggest prayer for you, little one, is that you would come to know the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus at an early age. We pray that you will fall in love with Him...that you'll live your days with Him and your life for Him. And that you'll share that love with others. And that you'll get to experience the freedom and joy that comes with knowing Him. Ok we clearly have quite a few prayers going on here so I'll go ahead and stop :) I'm so excited to see what He has in store for you! Daddy and I love you so much and are so, so thankful to be your parents! Happy 9 months, Libs!!
